Venge Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Family Reserve (Oakville)
Truffle, tobacco, caramel, licorice and cherry tones create the perfume. On the palate, the wine is plush, polished, soft, fresh and loaded with sweet cherries and cassis. 2,692 Views Tasted Sep 23, 2015Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, this rich, sensuous, chocolate, licorice, blackberry and truffle laden wine was surprisingly good. Full bodied and packed with layers of chocolate covered cherries, this seldom seen wine is worth grabbing, if you find a bottle. It would perform quite well in a blind tasting against much bigger names that sell for more money. 3,257 Views Tasted Oct 5, 2012 |

Licorice and black fruits on the nose lead you to a plush, polished, round and fruit filled finish that is at its apogee. 3,204 Views Tasted Dec 9, 2015 |

Venge Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Family Reserve (Oakville)
Fully mature, the wine serves up a juicy mouthful of sweet, ripe blackberries and cassis. Drink this sooner than later for its remaining fruit. 3,629 Views Tasted Mar 4, 2014What a nice surprise. The second to the last bottle of the case is showing better than the previous bottles with its flashy nose of licorice, chocolate covered cherry, boysenberry, smoke and tobacco filled nose. Fleshy, rich, ripe and frankly, lush, this is drinking perfectly today. For a wine of this quality, it sells for a song. Sadly, because the production was close to 200 cases, the problem is finding a bottle. 3,967 Views Tasted Oct 5, 2012While ripe and concentrated, there is a rustic nature to the fruit and tannins that did not bowl me over. 2,173 Views Tasted Nov 2, 2004 |
