Coffee, vanilla, black and blue fruits with licorice open to a blast of jammy, ripe berries and lush textures. There is a touch of heat in the finish. 3,554 Views Tasted Oct 15, 2012 |

This is a monster! Blueberry, coffee bean, vanilla, oak, licorice, chocolate and loads of fruit forward, jammy berries open the wine. The wine is huge, with layers of ripe and over ripe black and blue fruits. This style of wine is mouth filling and palate staining, along with very ABVic. It's not for the timid. Lovers of this style of wine will score it much higher than I did. 3,461 Views Tasted Oct 15, 2012 |

Inky in color, this did not look like a 12 year old wine. Chocolate covered blackberries, jam and earthy scents were all over the place. Intense, jammy fruit filled your mouth. But the ABVic heat was noticeable. Wines like this are all about the style. The finish was long, expansive and intense. Clearly this is a top example of a Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. But it’s not a wine that was fun to drink. It was over the top. The wine earns a high score for the quality, but if I had a bottle, I’d trade or sell it as it’s not my style. 4,017 Views Tasted Feb 21, 2013Olives, dill, licorice, herbs, chocolate, blueberry, jam and cassis. Better on the massive palate than the nose. Nice layers of big, ripe fruit. 2,237 Views Tasted Feb 22, 2005 |

Perhaps my taste is changing, but this did not float my boat. There was far too much oak, licorice, raisin and sweet jammy fruit. 5,280 Views Tasted Oct 5, 2012 |

Interestingly, the wine offers intense, over ripe raisin scents with green aromas. Concentrated with layers of fruit, this blend of 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon was probably better a few years ago. The green flavors are starting to become more noticeable along with heat from the ABV levels. Consumers should drink this sooner than later. 2,753 Views Tasted Jan 24, 2012 |
