Ojai Syrah Roll Ranch Vineyard (California)
Just starting to open, this Cote Rotie blend, (due to the small amount of Viognier in the blend) offers fresh black raspberry, fennel, floral and blackberry scents. Soft, round and structured to aqe, this is an elegant, fresh style of California Syrah. The wines of Ojai age quite well. I still have a few bottles from the late 90's that taste remarkably young. 2,266 Views Tasted Aug 31, 2012 |

Ojai Syrah Lot E.H. Roll Ranch Vineyard (California)
With only 200 cases made, this is not easy to find. But if you ever see a bottle, grab it! Youthful and fresh at close to 23 years of age, this deeply colored beauty is loaded to the gills with smoke, licorice, black cherry and creme de cassis. Full-bodied, rich, lush, round and deep, the finish goes on and on. The 15% ABV is buried beneath the wealth of fruit. This is one of the top older California Syrah wines produced. I wish I had more than one bottle remaining. 2,221 Views Tasted Nov 9, 2020 |

Ojai Syrah Cuvée Henry Daniel (Santa Ynez Valley)
This corpulent, thick, complex and concentrated wine is packed with so much ripe fruit, the 15.9% ABV is not even noticeable. Very well balanced. This should evolve for at least another 10 years. 2,634 Views Tasted Apr 12, 2008 |
