Tight, this wine needs time. With effort, some hints of jammy berries, licorice and spice could be detected. Soft in texture, medium bodied, polished and refined in character, I'd give this a few more years in the cellar or at least a few hours of decanting. However, I am not sure this is ever going to deliver a lot of fireworks.

Richer and more concentrated than the standard release, the wine is deep purple in color. With a nose of licorice, pepper and jammy black raspberries, the wine combines the best of both world's offering elegance, richness and ripe fruit. Still young, I'd give it a few more years to develop.

The debut vintage from Maggie Harrison who learned her trade from her time with Manfred Krankl of Sine Qua Non, the wine offers coffee, blackberry and smoke filled cherry jam aromas in the perfume. On the palate, the wine is medium bodied, refined and elegant in style. At 15.4% ABV, there is no sensation of heat. This Syrah is drinking perfectly now. I would not age it further as there is little to gain and more to lose.
