2010 St. Julien is extremely successful in every commune, from top to bottom. The wines are rich, deep, vibrant, powerful, yet refined and display great purity of fruit.
2010 Margaux wines are not as lush as 2009, but the wines have more freshness, good concentration and display a great purity of fruit, with ripe, round tannins.
While the Pomerol selection for the UGC is small, the best wines displayed great quality, character and style in the 2010 Bordeaux vintage.
The wine market has been very tough particularly in Greater China including Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan. These markets are at the heart of the slow-down. There are far too many players there currently. There is going to be a shakeout, which will be painful but necessary.
2012 Napa wines are well structured, with good levels of acidity providing freshness and color stability. Based upon on all of these characteristics, we expect greatness for the 2012 Napa Valley vintage!
