Haut Medoc is a massive appellation with an incredibly, diverse range of terroirs, wines, and wine styes. As you would expect, the results are equally diverse. But, if you know where to look, there are numerous wines with early-drinking, soft-textured, charm that merit your attention.

Listrac and Moulis are small appellations with dedicated growers that strived to produce the best wine possible, which was not an easy task in 2021. That being said, there a few, early drinking wines worth looking at for near-term consumption.

Climate change has continued to help growers in the cool. terroir in the Medoc. 2021 offered its challenges, but for the estates that were able to cope with the vintage, you can find some nice, classically-styled, Left Bank wines.

2021 Bordeaux is the product of a challenging vintage. Perhaps, it is was at its most difficult in the more generic, larger appellation of Bordeaux. In Bordeaux Superieur, at its best, you find pleasant, soft-textured, early drinking charmers that will be at their best on release, and for up to a decade in some cases.

2021 Sweet white Bordeaux wines are simply, just great! Complex, racy, sweet, and unctuous with crisp, fresh, honey-drenched fruits. But you need to act quickly, as very little wine was made as production was down by 70% or more this year.

2021 White Bordeaux Wines rock! They are extraordinary capturing the essence of the vineyards with purity, precision, crisp, bright, zesty fruits, complex aromatics, and all the vibrancy and character you could ever hope for. If you are a fan of Bordeaux Blanc, these are the best wines in years. Don’t miss out as very little wine was made this year.
