2021 Lalande de Pomerol had a similar growing season to its much more famous neighboring appellation, Pomerol, but the devastation from the frosts was much worse. Even with all of the year’s difficulties and challenges, there are some nice, early-drinking wines offering good style and character.

2021 Saint Emilion is a bit of a mixed vintage with some estates clearly making better wine than others. Those with more Cabernet Franc in the blend, and vineyards able to handle the excess water produced some very strong wines, many of which will be a treat to enjoy on release.

At their best, they complete with Classified Growths, offering ripe, red fruits, bight, crisp, fresh, vibrant palate presence, and loads of cedar, tobacco, savory herbs and red currants. With 2021, they are also going to drink well on the young side!
2021 Margaux offers some very nice wines from a challenging vintage. The year is not homogenous, so you need to know where to look, but the best wines are fresh, elegant, classically styled, aromatic, and age-worthy beauties.
