These are outstanding Pomerol wines. But are they at the same level as they produced in 2008?
Aside from amazing high prices, its main problem is, the wine lacks consistency. It doesn’t always perform as one would expect. Yet, when it is on, Le Pin is a decadent Pomerol without peer. 2010 Le Pin is set to be one of the best Le Pin’s ever produced!
The previous Petrus winemaker and father of Olivier Berrouet, Jean Claude Berrouet was also at the tasting. When asked, Jean Claude said he was worried about how well the current vintages of Bordeaux would age.

Denis Durantou explained the need for taking care not to over extract too much tannin in this vintage. One of the ways he accomplished this was by reducing the amount of pump overs during fermentation.
The rich, intense, plum liqueur, chocolate and black cherry palate combines freshness, silky textures and a sense of refined elegance.
