But at their best, 2020 Lalande de Pomerol produced a lot of sublime, fresh, lush, soft, and silky, Merlot and Cabernet Franc blends that, unlike their more prestigious neighbors, will not cost that much to buy most of them. 2020 Bertineau St.-Vincent – Lalande de Pomerol – Dusty chocolate, flowers, plums, cherries, and plum spice with a touch of spice comes through easily on the nose. On the palate, the wine offers velvety-textured, black, and red plums, dark chocolate, and licorice. This is going to be fun to enjoy in its youth, but it will age nicely. 2020 Canon Chaigneau Cuve Sa Beton – Lalande de Pomerol – Flowers, cherries, and a background note of cocoa open the nose. The wine is medium-bodied, soft, fresh, and plummy with freshness, sweetness, and a mild dash of chocolate in the soft, vibrant finish. This is unique as it is aged entirely without oak. 2020 La Fleur de Bouard Le Plus – Lalande de Pomerol – Deeply colored, the wine packs a punch with all of its fruit, and all of its toasty oak, which is clearly present in the nose, and on the palate.
