It is important to keep in mind that the Haut-Medoc is a massive appellation running from the far north of the Medoc, all the way down the southern part of the Left Bank. Due to its scale, naturally, the terroir varies widely. That means with all the numerous challenges growers faced with the 2021 vintage, there is an even more divergent range of qualities found in the wines than usual.
