The following 2020 Bordeaux Superieur wines were all tasted in my home office in non-blind conditions.

2020 Au Vignoble Revelations d’Hubert de Bouard – Charming, fresh, fruity, soft, smooth and forward, this Merlot-based wine with its chocolate accents is already delicious to drink. Enjoy it on release for all its ripe fruit and freshness. 89-91 Pts

2020 Balthus – Full-bodied, opulent, rich and fleshy, the layers of ripe, dense plums and chocolate with hoisin sauce on the nose and palate leave a long impression. This finish shows a lot of oak at the moment, so give these 3 – 5 years to better come together. This is a full-bodied, opulent, hedonistic-styled wine that is made from a specific parcel selection of 100% old vine Merlot. 91-93 Pts

2020 Beaulieu – Soft, fruity, medium-bodied, forward and ready to go, with its easygoing, red berry character, this is a perfect, uncomplicated, summer quaffer. Drink this on the young side. 84-86 Pts

2020 Bolaire – Dark in color, the wine shows black, red and blue fruits with a cool spiciness. Juicy, chewy, full-bodied, deep and round, with a peppery core of savory fruit on the palate and finish. Give this a few years in the bottle to develop more complexity. The wine is interesting as you often find as much as 50% of the blend devoted to old vines Petit Verdot along with Merlot. 89-91 Pts

2020 Bouscat Caduce – Dark in color, the wine is lush, plush and polished, with layers of supple textured, sweet, chocolate-covered cherries, licorice and spice with a savory touch in the finish. This should be just great on release. 90-92 Pts

2020 Bouscat Cuvee la Gargone – Black and blue fruit galore with additional nuances of dark chocolate, licorice, espresso and spice. The wine is rich, full-bodied, supple and long. You can enjoy it in its youth for all its lush, polished, sweet, ripe and exuberant fruit. 91-93 Pts

2020 Bouscat Les Portes de L’Am – Opaque in color, the attention-seeking perfume opens with blackberry liqueur, roasted plums, incense and chocolate mint. Full-bodied, fleshy, showy and concentrated, the wine is rich, long, sweet, chewy and dense, finishing with a refreshing touch of spearmint in the endnote. The wine is a Jeffrey Davies Selection Exclusive. 92-94 Pts

2020 Cilorn – Early drinking, soft, uncomplicated, red berry-filled wine with no hard edges and a pleasant finish. 84-86 Pts

2020 Courteillac – Medium-bodied, earthy, savory, with red fruits, herbs and olives on the nose and palate. The finish shows a lot of oak at the moment, so it is going to take at least a few years to come together. Drink it over the next 5-7 years. 87-89 Pts

2020 Croix Mouton – Medium-bodied, fresh, bright and fruity, with soft-textures and sweet, vibrant berries on the nose and palate. The wine is completed with a juicy, licorice, spice and earthy, cherry-tinged finish. This remains a contender for the best value wine in all of Bordeaux. Drink it on release and purchase it by the case. 87-89 Pts

2020 Croix Mouton 20 Mille – Dark in color, the wine is lush, plush, polished and loaded with dark cocoa, cherries, plums, oak, smoke and espresso in every sniff and sip. Produced from 100% Merlot and planted to a density of 20,000 vines per hectare, hence the name, this is going to be delicious with just a year or two of age. 90-92 Pts

2020 Dame de Coeur du Château Peyfaures – Notes of 5 spices, espresso beans and roasted cherries come forward in the perfume. On the palate the wine is soft, silky, medium-bodied, fruity and fresh, leaving you with ripe, black, blue and red fruits with a touch of cinnamon in the sweet, polished finish. 89-91 Pts

2020 De La Cour d’Argent – Round, soft, sweet and fruity, the wine is medium-bodied, forward and floral, with a blast of lush, juicy, fresh kirsch and thyme in the finish. This will be just great on release. 89-91 Pts

2020 Fleur Haut Gaussens – Round, polished, medium-bodied, fruity wine, finishing with herbs, spice, olives and red fruits. Drink this ripe fruity wine on the young side. 87-89 Pts

2020 l’Isle Fort – Deep ruby in color, the wine is soft, forward, medium-bodied, round and fruity, with an open, easy-to-like, fruity character that will be best for early drinking pleasure. 87-89 Pts

2020 Jean Faux Sainte-Radegonde – Round, sweet, chewy, forward and fruity, this is already easy to enjoy with its blast of juicy fruits, olives, spice and tobacco in the finish. 89-91 Pts

2020 L’Eperon – Fresh and fruity, soft and juicy with a polished core of plums, cherries, licorice and espresso, which is going to be delicious on release. 86-88 Pts

2020 Laurence – Soft, correct, medium-bodied, early-drinking, easy to like, a round-textured charmer with loads of ripe black plums and hints of cocoa in the finish. 88-90 Pts

2020 Le Conseiller – With a showy nose of licorice, smoke, espresso, cocoa and plums, the wine is round, fleshy, fruity, medium-bodied and already delicious to taste. It is difficult to find better wine in the price range on the planet. 88-90 Pts

2020 Le Pin Beausoleil – Forward, medium-bodied, soft and fruity with sweet, juicy dark red pit fruits, spice and mocha in the finish. You can enjoy this with pleasure on release as this will be best in its exuberant youth. 89-91 Pts

2020 Madran Cuvée Prestige – Dark in color and with equally dark fruit on the palate, you also find plushly-textured black cherries, licorice and cocoa. Round, polished and rich, the wine is loaded with boisterous up-front, sweet, juicy, fleshy fruits. You can enjoy this on release and for at least a decade after that. The wine is packaged in an oversized, massive bottle that weighs as much as some magnums. 89-91 Pts

2020 Penin Les Cailloux – Blackberry and chocolate come together on the nose and on the round, polished, medium-bodied, fruity palate. Drink this over the next 3-5 years. 86-87 Pts

2020 Pey-La-Tour Reserve – Dark, juicy and fruity with a blast of black cherries on the nose. The wine is medium-bodied, round, ripe and lush with accents of chocolate, spice and espresso in the finish. This should drink just great on release. 89-91 Pts

2020 Peyfaures – Flowers, licorice, cocoa and ripe strawberry and cherry notes open the wine. Medium-bodied, fresh bright, chewy, spicy and oaky on the palate, finishing with bright, soft, polished red fruits. Give this a year or two in the cellar, and it should be quite fun to drink. 88-90 Pts

2020 Prieure Marquet – Savory red berries with herbs, olives and leafy tea notes. This Medium-bodied wine finishes with a strong herbal sense. 83-85 Pts

2020 Reignac – Lusciously textured black cherries coated in dark chocolate with licorice are found on the nose and on the opulent, richly textured palate. Ripe, fleshy, rich and with loads of flavor and concentration. Give this just a year or two, and it should be good to go. 90-92 Pts

2020 Sainte Barbe – Flowers, licorice, sweet and tart plums and tobacco leaf are found on the nose and palate of this medium-bodied, forward, soft, round, juicy wine. 88-90 Pts

2020 Sainte Marie Vieilles Vignes – Forward, round and fruity with chocolate overtones to the plums and cherries, the wine is medium-bodied, forward and easy to drink. This will be best to drink over the next 4-6 years. 87-89 Pts

2020 Talmont Cuvée Divine – Medium/light-bodied, fruity, forward, soft, simple afternoon quaffer. 82-84 Pts

2020 Timberlay Cuvee Marie Paule – Deeply colored, the wine is round, lush, forward, fruity, soft, ripe, sweet and polished, and it is already drinking well. This is a solid value, early-drinking charmer you can purchase by the case. 87-89 Pts
