2010 Ducru Beaucaillou –  Inky deep purple in color, this stunning St. Julien Bordeaux wine is filled with scents of tobacco, vanilla, crème de cassis, blueberry, licorice, chocolate and truffle. Thick, rich and stuffed with pure, ripe, sweet, dark berries, the wine coats your mouth and palate. The long, intense finish ends with black cherry, fennel and blackberries. This truly builds in your mouth. There are no hard edges to be found in this sublime wine that ends with more than sixty seconds of flavor sensations. This is a more complete and interesting wine than when tasted in April. In a surprise and savvy move, chateau owner Bruno Borie reduced prices for the 2010 Ducru Beaucaillou  release which was priced at 150 Euros. That equates to a discount from their 2009 prices at slightly more than 16%. 2009 Ducru Beaucaillou had difficulty selling. While still expensive, that level of discount helped spark sales for their 2010 Bordeaux wine. 97-98 Pts
2010 Croix de Beaucaillou offers a nose of licorice, smoke, dark berries and earthy scents. The round, soft textured wine ends with a cassis, cocoa and boysenberry filled finish. 2010 will be the first vintage sporting a new label for this wine in an effort to let consumers know, the estate does not consider it a second wine of Ducru Beaucaillou. According to Bruno Borie, Croix de Beaucaillou should not be viewed as a second wine because the grapes emanate from a different terroir than the Grand Vin. 91-93 Pts
2010 Lalande Borie – Sweet cassis, licorice, blackberry and oak in the nose. This medium/full bodied wine ends with a blackberry/boysenberry filled finish. 89-91 Pts
2010 Fourcas Borie opens with cassis, spice and dark berry aromas. Round, filled with charm and pleasing to the wallet, this will be one of the top value wines from the Medoc in the expensive 2010 Bordeaux vintage. 88-90 Pts
