2010 Le Gay. In 2010, with the help of a new managing director, Jerome Ducasse, (who replaced Jean-Christophe Meyrou,) the estate produced a wine from blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. Scents of oak, flowers, jammy black raspberries and chocolate, couple with a concentrated, juicy black and red plum finish. 92-94 Pts Â
2010 La Violette  From 100% old Merlot vines located on the Pomerol plateau, the wine pops with fresh scents of violets, chocolate, black raspberry jam, licorice and truffle. In the mouth, black plum, dark cherry and earthy flavors are found in the lush finish. 93-94 Pts
2010 Montviel Medium bodied with plum, black raspberry and cherry notes will drink well early. 86-88 Pts
I like all these wines from Catherine Pere-Verge, but for price, quality and as the wines are in bottle now, consumers and Pomerol fanatics should purchase the remaining stocks of any 2008 Le Gay and La Violette they can find. That being said, 2010 La Violette has a lot of upside potential for very, wealthy consumers.
