2022 White Bordeaux Wine Buying Guide
2022 is an interesting vintage for the white wines of Bordeaux. Most of the time, the hot, dry vintages have been too extreme for Bordeaux Blanc wines. However, with 2022 Bordeaux white wines, most of the time, that is not the case. Growers that picked early, before the full effects of the hot, sunny, dry, end-of-summer weather, were able to produce wines with ample freshness that added to the naturally creamy textures. 2022 Blanc du Milieu – Vin de Pays Pyrénees-Atlantiques – Round, fruity, light, and floral, with some grapefruit peel, and yellow with orange citrus in its round-textured core, the wine will be at its best over the next few years. Drink from 2025-2028. 90 Pts

2022 Climens Lilium – Bordeaux Blanc Sec – Caramel, roasted green apples, pineapple, ginger, orange rind, and honeysuckle pop in the nose. 2022 Clos-du-Beau-Pere Blanc du Beau Père – Bordeaux – Flowers, with yellow, and orange citrus are quite charming in your glass. I like the freshness with the cut of grapefruit in the finish. The first white wine from Pomerol in over 100 years could only come from Jean-Luc Thunevin and Murielle Andraud. Produced from blending 50% Sauvignon Blanc and 50% Sauvignon Gris.
