2021 La Clotte – Flowers, black raspberries, cocoa, and plum notes open the perfume. Silky, soft, and fresh, with an earthy, dark cherry and chocolate core of energetic fruits on the mid-palate and in the vibrant finish. The wine was produced from 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc. 12.5% ABV. Drink from 2025-2039. 91-93 Pts

2021 La Commanderie – Soft, supple, medium-bodied, fresh, bright, crisp, and crunchy red fruits with a hint of peppery spice on the backend of the finish. Drink from 2023-2032. 88-90 Pts

2021 La Confession – Plummy, with chocolate, espresso, black cherries, smoke, and flowers in the perfume, the wine is silky, fresh, soft, and sweet, with loads of supple-textured red fruits in the vibrant finish. 2021 La Dominique – Flowers and red fruits show nicely in the perfume. On the palate, the medium-bodied wine is soft, elegant, polished, silky, and sweet, with accents of espresso, peppery spice, herbs, and cocoa in the dusty, earthy, and refined endnote. The wine blends 85% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc and 2% Cabernet Franc. 13.5% ABV. The wine is aged in 50% new, French oak, and 10% amphora. You can enjoy this on release. 2021 La Gaffeliere – Plummy, polished, soft, and fresh, the floral characteristics in the nose make an impression before you experience the multiple layers of sweet, ripe, juicy, dark plums, espresso, and chocolate in the mid-palate and in the round, soft, silky, long finish. 2021 La Marzelle – Silky, soft and supple, the wine is refined and loaded with ripe, sweet, polished, fresh, red fruits, licorice, cocoa, and plums that are on display in the mid=palate though to the finish. Drink from 2023-2036. 89-91 Pts

2021 La Mondotte – Flowers, black raspberries, broken stones, smoke, cherries, and mint create the nose. On the palate, the wine is elegant, soft, refined, chalky, energetic, fresh, and intense with layers of crisp, sweet, vibrant red pit fruits and a strong touch of salt on the backend. 2021 La Serre – Silky, soft and fresh, with a gorgeous polish to the dark red fruits which are made even more interesting by all of its floral accents. There is a sweetness to the fruit, soft, silky tannins, and freshness in the finish. I like the spicy, cocoa note that comes through on the backend. Drink from 2023-2038. 91-93 Pts

2021 La Voute – Deeply colored, the wine is plush, polished, round, fresh, and fruity, with lifted, silky tannins and loads of fresh, sweet, dark plums, licorice, and black cherries in the chocolaty, fruit-filled finish. Drink from 2024-2039. 91-93 Pts

2021 La-Fleur-Morange – Polished, soft, supple, sweet, dark cherries blend with savory, leafy herbs and earthy nuances on the nose and on the medium-bodied, soft, fresh, lively, red berry palate. Drink from 2023-2037. 90-92 Pts

2021 Laforge – Flowers, smoke, plums, and black raspberries, with a touch of espresso, come through on the nose. Medium-bodied, soft, forward, fresh, and polished on the palate, the wine will be easy to enjoy on release. The wine blends 92% Merlot with 8% Cabernet Franc. Drink from 2023-2035. 89-91 Pts

2021 Laniote – Medium-bodied, fresh, bright, earthy, and with a leafy, underbrush accent to the crisp, savory, red plums in the finish. 2023-2034. 88-90 Pts

2021 Larcis Ducasse – Oyster shell, crushed rocks, flowers, smoke, licorice, espresso roasted cherries, and plums create the complex aromatic profile. On the palate, this is a finesse-styled vintage, medium-bodied, plummy with a savory edge to the black cherries on the mid-palate and in the oceanic finish. The wine blends 86% Merlot with 14% Cabernet Franc, 13.5% ABV. The harvest took place September 29-October 9. Drink from 2026-2044. 92-94 Pts

2021 Larmande – Here, the nose is a bit more interesting, with all of its layers of black and red fruits, smoke, espresso, mint, and tobacco leaf. Slightly austere on the palate, making this quite classic in style. Give it a few years to develop and hopefully, soften and fan out. The wine blends 91% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink from 2025-2039. 88-91 Pts

2021 Laroque – With nice color, the wine already shows flowers, licorice, dark red pit fruits, and just a hint of chocolate. Soft, polished and fresh, with sweet, juicy, black cherries and silky tannins, and plenty of juicy, dark fruits in the finish, this should be simply delicious to enjoy on release. The wine was made with 99% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Franc, reaching 13.5% ABV. The harvest took place October 1 – October 18. Drink from 2023-2037. 91-93 Pts

2021 Laroze – Flowers, espresso, cocoa, red berries, and licorice are in the nose and on the palate of this forward, medium-bodied, ready-to-go, soft, fresh, floral wine. Drink from 2023-2035. 89-91 Pts

2021 Le Chatelet – Medium-bodied, with a core of espresso, dark cherry, and herbs on the nose and palate that will be easy to enjoy on release. Drink from 2023-2034. 86-88 Pts

2021 Le Dome – Flowers, licorice, black cherry, smoke, spice, and fresh, leafy herbs open the nose. On the palate, the wine is fresh, supple, soft, and polished, with silky tannins and a spicy, plum, and deep cherry finish that delivers just a dab of vanilla and crushed rock coming in on the endnote. The wine is a blend of 80% Cabernet Franc and 20% Merlot, which includes fruit normally placed into Les Asteries, 13.4 ABV, pH 3.71. Yields were low at 28 hectoliters per hectare. 2021 Le Prieure – Flowers, red fruits, crushed rocks, licorice and cherries are found with ease on the nose and round, soft-edged, fresh, bright, medium-bodied, red berry packed palate. The wine finishes with salty tannins, red fruits, licorice, and coffee bean. This is a bit better on the nose than on the palate, which could use more depth. Drink from 2023-2038. 89-91 Pts

2021 Les Angelots de Gracia – Incense, espresso, spice, and cherries with a bit of chocolate in the endnote come through easily in this fresh, medium-bodied, soft-textured, forward, light wine. Drink from 2023-2036. 87-89 Pts

2021 Les Gravieres – Flowers, licorice, plums, cocoa, and plummy fruits form the core of this medium-bodied, fresh, mineral-driven wine. Produced from 100% Merlot, you can enjoy this charmer on release. Drink from 2023-2034. 89-91 Pts

2021 Lif – Deeply colored, the nose pops with flowers, red pit fruits, cherries, red plums, smoke, and charcoal. Rich, and sweet, with ripe, round tannins and silky-textured plums, dark chocolate and espresso on the mid-palate, with a fair amount of salinity on the backend in the finish, this is quite successful for the vintage.. This remains one of the new stars of St. Emilion and is a wine to follow before prices jump. The wine blends 79% Merlot with 21% Cabernet Franc, 13.5% ABV, pH 3.61. Drink from 2026-2050. 94-96 Pts

2021 Louis – Elegant, fresh, bright, crisp, and energetic, with a nice touch of salt on the backend to add complexity to all of the sweet, ripe dark cherries in the finish. Drink from 2023-2035. 89-91 Pts

2021 Lucia – Licorice, smoke, and cocoa along with ripe black cherries, espresso, and plums on the nose and palate here. The wine is sweet, fruity, round, and polished, Drink from 2023-2036. 89-91 Pts

2021 Lynsolence – With a nice, depth of color, the wine opens with licorice, blackberry, coffee bean, and chocolate mint. On the palate, the wine is round, fresh, sweet, and soft, with black cherry and espresso-packed finish. The wine is made from 100% Merlot. Drink from 2023-2035. 89-91 Pts

2021 Mangot – Black cherries, juicy black plums, espresso, and a touch of chocolate on the nose and palate get things going. Round, soft, polished, fruity, and fresh, the finish leaves you with chocolate-covered cherries and a touch of salt in the endnote. Drink from 2023-2034. 2021 Mangot Todeschini Distique 14 – One of the few Bordeaux wines made from 100% Cabernet Franc, the deeply colored wine opens with black, red, and blue fruit with a touch of spice and flower stem aromatics. On the palate, the wine is round, soft, fruity, and rich. There is a nice sweetness to the fruits and a softness on the palate and in the savory finish. The wine is aged without new oak in a combination of amphora and foudres. Drink from 2024-2040. 91-93 Pts

2021 Milens – Smoke, licorice, espresso, flowers, and black plums kick off the wine. On the palate, the wine is soft, polished, sweet, fresh and silky, medium-bodied, forward, and ready-to-go, this should be quite nice to enjoy over the next decade. Drink from 2023-2033. 89-91 Pts

2021 Monbousquet – Fresh, juicy, and sweet, with accents of flowers, black cherry, plum, creamy coffee, and leafy herbs. The wine is medium-bodied, soft, forward, and fruity, with a bit of dust in the tannins and in the chewy fruit finish. Close to 50% of the crop was lost to the frost. The wine blends 70% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13.67% ABV. Drink from 2023-2037. 90-92 Pts

2021 Montlabert – Medium-bodied, the wine opens with espresso, cocoa, licorice, plums, and chocolate-coated cherries. Round, soft and polished, the wine is forward, and already quite charming to taste. Drink from 2023-2036. 89-91 Pts

2021 Paradis – Espresso, licorice, black plums, chocolate, and spice notes create the perfume. Round, soft, and supple with sweet, silky, fresh, ripe, dark cherries and cocoa on the palate, this is going to be easy to like on release, and it should age for more than a decade with ease. 2021 Pavie – One of the darkest colored wines of the vintage, the wine kicks off with black, blue, and dark red fruit. Spicy, long, and fresh, with strong oceanic influences, espresso, chocolate, flowers, herbs, and salty, wild cherries in the perfume. The wine has equal amounts of richness, freshness, length, and energy, with a finish that showcases its deep, limestone soils. There is tension and ample dark, red fruits that carry through to the endnote. The wine blends 52% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 18% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14.14% ABV pH 3.67. Harvesting took place September 28 – October 12. The lateness of the vintage is due to waiting for the Cabernets to ripen, which was a key to the wine’s success. Drink from 2028-2060. 94-96 Pts

2021 Pavie-Decesse – Flowers, crushed rocks, flowers, oyster shells, black cherries, and a hint of orange flowers are discovered in the nose. On the palate, the wine is ripe, round, and polished, the wine shows its chocolate-coated orange slices, mint, black plum, and chalky character with ease. Give this a year or two in the cellar before pulling a cork. The wine is produced from 88% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Franc, 14.19% ABV. Drink from 2025-2045. 92-94 Pts

2021 Pavie Macquin – Flowers, plums, espresso, licorice, and dark cherries with a touch of leafy herbs are on the nose. The wine is fresh, bright, crisp, and with a salty, savory, olive-tinted edge on the palate, as well as in the mineral-driven finish. Give the wine a few years in the cellar to soften and fill out. 2021 Peby Faugeres – Deeply colored, the wine is concentrated, long, deep, lush, opulent, and rich. 2021 Petit Gravet Aine – Savory red fruits, herbs, flowers, spice box, crushed rocks, and pine create the nose. On the palate, the wine is soft, fresh, vibrant, and salty. 2021 Petit Val Margo Cuvee de Coeur – Medium-bodied, floral, earthy, spicy, and a bit reductive, this dark cherry-dominated wine will be best over the next few years. The is the top of the line special Cuvee from Petit Val is produced from100% Cabernet Franc without any sulfur. 2021 Peymouton – Black raspberries, flowers, and herbs on the nose bring you to the medium-bodied, soft, fresh, forward, bright, crisp, red pit fruit palate and finish. You can enjoy this on release and over the near term. Drink from 2023-2029. 87-89 Pts

2021 Pindefleurs – Soft, fresh, forward, vibrant, and focused on its earthy, savory, red pit fruit core of fruit. The wine is medium-bodied, soft, and vibrant on the palate and should be a pleasure to drink on release. Drink from 2023-2031. 88-90 Pts

2021 Poesia – With good richness in color, you find chocolate, black cherry, mint leaf, crushed rock, and flowers in the nose. Earthy, soft, lush, and polished, there is a nice finesse along with fruit and freshness in the finish. The wine is made from a blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc. 2021 Pressac – Smoky, with a leafy, tobacco edge to the elegant, refined, fresh, cherries and plums. Medium-bodied, soft and silky, there is a nice sweetness to the fruits on the palate and in the finish, with its touch of chocolate-mint in the endnote. Not much wine was made as the yields were under 15 hectoliters per hectare. Drink from 2023-2035. 92-94 Pts

2021 Pressac Tour de Pressac – Light-weight, forward, cherry, and flower-filled wine for early-drinking consumption. Drink from 2023-2027. 84-85 Pts

2021 Quinault LEnclos – Cherries, plums, chocolate, nutmeg, flowers, and mint on the palate. The fruits are sweet and rich, but the mid-palate is a bit light before you get to all the sweetness and lift in the finish. Yields are quite low at only 20 hectoliters per hectare, so the wine is going to be difficult to find as the production was cut almost in half. The wine blends 59% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Franc, and 18% Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink from 2023-2036. 90-92 Pts

2021 Quintus – Deeply colored, the wine is packed with nuances of crushed rocks, black raspberries, flowers, plums, and forest leaves. Extremely poised and polished, the silky palate offers purity in the fruit, length, and the sense of minerality, finishing with an array of red pit fruits, cocoa, and salty tannins. This is the first vintage to include from the recently purchased vineyards formerly belonging to Grand Pontet. The wine blends 58% Merlot, 31% Cabernet Franc and 1% Malbec. 13.3% ABV. 2021 Quintus St. Emilion de Quintus – Light, fresh, bright, and easy-drinking, earthy, savory, red berry-filled wine. 79% Merlot and 21% Cabernet Franc. Drink from 2023-2027. 84-86 Pts

2021 Ripeau – With a deep, hue the wine opens with black cherries, flowers, plums, chocolate, and licorice. On the palate, the wine is plush and polished, with supple, soft tannins and a cocoa, dark chocolate, and plum finish. This should age quite nicely. Drink from 2024-2040. 91-93 Pts

2021 Rochebelle – Medium-bodied, on the red fruit side with additional layers of dark red berries, you also find a lot of minerality characteristics here with its salinity that shows up on the palate and in the finish. 2021 Rocheyron – Silky, fresh, refined, soft, and polished, there is an elegance to the layers of sweet, plums, followed by truffle, coffee bean, and dark chocolate with a touch of flowers, mint, and spice on the backend. 2021 Tertre Roteboeuf – Flowers, spice, crushed stone, savory red fruit, raspberries, 5 spice, cinnamon, cherries, and peppery spices create on the most compelling noses of the vintage. On the palate, the wine is earthy, lush, and round, and continues in the spicy mode in the mid-palate all the way through to the finish. 2021 Tour Saint Christophe – Roses, lilacs, espresso, caramel, Indian spice, cherries, and red plums create the complex nose. On the palate, the wine is bright, crisp, chewy, and fresh, with a good sense of minerality, and purity in the fruits. The wine is made by blending 80% Merlot with 20% Cabernet Franc, 13.6% ABV, pH 3.5. The harvest took place September 18, October 15. 2021 Troplong Mondot – Deeply colored, the wine is rich, round, lush, and fresh. Initially, you notice flowers, chocolate, truffle, espresso, cocoa, and black plums. There is a silkiness to the tannins, sweetness along with freshness on the palate, and a finish with black, blue, and dark red fruits with a strong touch of chalk in the finish. Forward, soft, polished, round and loaded with crunchy, sweet fruits, the wine already delivers pleasure. The wine is produced from 100% Merlot which comes from a specific parcel selection. 2021 Trotte Vieille – Deeply colored, you find flowers, cedar, forest leaf, espresso, and dark red fruits. The palate offers richness, freshness, opulent tannins, and purity in the fruits. Elegant, bright, and supple, the finish lingers and builds on your palate. The wine blends 54% Cabernet Franc, 45% Merlot, and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon. 14% ABV. 2021 Valandraud – Put your nose in the glass and smell all the chocolate, espresso, black plums, black raspberry, licorice and wet earth. Deep garnet in color, the wine is plush, polished, silky, and loaded with sweet, dark, ripe, lusciously-textured red fruits. The wine blends 85% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc and 6% Cabernet Sauvignon. 13.5% ABV, pH 3.5. The harvest took place October 3 – October 15. drink from 2025-2048. 93-95 Pts

2021 Valandraud Blanc de Valandraud – Flowers, honeysuckle, vanilla, and yellow with orange citrus create the nose. On the palate, the wine cracks with bright, crisp, lemon peel, a touch of orange, spice, and pineapple. The finish balances between its opulent, flamboyant nature and its fresh, bright citrus side. 2021 Virginie de Valandraud – Medium-bodied, soft, silky, and sweet, and polished with a core of plummy, dark cherry fruits, chocolate, and licorice, along with a minty edge. You can enjoy this early, or age it as well. You can drink this young, or age it for 3-5 years and enjoy it over the following decade. The wine blends 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink from 2023-2036. 91-93 Pts

2021 Valandraud 3 de Valandraud – Leafy herbs, underbrush, tobacco leaf, savory red fruits, and cranberry show up nicely on the nose and on the soft-textured, medium-bodied, earthy, herb-filled palate. Drink from 2023-2029. 87-89 Pts

2021 Vieux Chateau Mazerat – Flowers, black raspberries, vanilla cream, licorice, black plum, and a hint of orange blossom on the nose. The palate is fresh, soft, and supple with silky tannins and a vibrancy to the red fruits with a savory edge. You also find a nice touch of minerality in the finish. The wine blends 90% Merlot with 10% Cabernet Franc. Drink from 2024-2039. 91-93 Pts

2021 Villemaurine – Medium-bodied, soft, silky, and fresh, with a core of sweet, juicy, plums, chocolate-covered cherries, spice, and coffee beans. Drink from 2023-2038. 90-92 Pts

2021 YonFigeac – Light in color and fruit, the wine offers hints of bright red cherries, herbs, and underbrush on the nose and palate. This will be best in its youth to capture the light, red cherry and strawberries in the finish. Drink from 2023-2027. 85-87 Pts
