All of the following 2019 Saint Emilion Satellite Appellation wines from Lussac-St. Emilion, Montagne-St. Emilion, St. Georges-St. Emilion, and Puisseguin-St. Emilion were all tasted in non-blind conditions in my home office.
2019 Barbe Blanche Lussac-St. Émilion – Spicy, plummy,, medium-bodied, forward, early drinking wine with a core of plums cherries, coffee bean and hint of fruit cake to fill things out. Soft, round and fruity, this should be delicious on release. Drink from 2022-2032. 88 Pts
2019 Cap St. George St. Georges-St. Émilion – Black cherries, espresso and red plums show nicely in this soft-textured, supple, fresh, red berry filled wine. The finish is a tad oaky, but there is more than enough fruit here to round things out nicely. Give it a year or two of bottle age and it should be even better. Drink from 2022-2032. 90 Pts
2019 Cap d’Or St. Georges-St. Émilion – Black cherries and flowers are what you initially find. But the part of the wine is the load of ripe, sweet, round, supple textured black cherries and fresh, sweet, plums on the palate with their tints of chocolate, licorice, espresso and that cool hit of crushed stone in the finish.
